A couple approached our firm about renovating a well preserved, pre-war home located in a Maryland suburb for their growing family. The original kitchen was very small, and the house lacked gathering places. Several of the rooms required updating in order to create a cohesive progression into other rooms. We made a few interior changes, expanded a large cased opening, and created a more natural flow between spaces. During the design phase, we re-purposed an underused attached garage. It became a new side entry to the home, a generous walk in pantry, and a home office.
